Organic so that harm to the environment

Organic farming is the technique of doing cultivation in
natural way i.e. without using any synthetic chemicals or fertilizers, so that
harm to the environment can be minimized. It is done using organic fertilizers
like manure, green manure and bone meal and usage of the natural techniques of
agriculture like crop rotation and companion planting. Organic farming is
promoted these days because there is lot of harm is done to the environment due
to using of chemicals in the field and also it affects the human health. In

1.
Organic farming preserves the soil
quality: Organic
farming helps to increase the fertility of soil by adding the organic manures
into it.Due to usage of chemicals in the agriculture practices, the quality of
soil was greatly affected. Initially the production increased but gradually the
quality of soil declined and thus production also got affected. Organic farming
increases the moisture and microbes in the soil so that productivity of the
soil increases. Due to increased moisture content in the soil, problem of soil
erosion also decreases as the moisture holds the soil layers into its place.

2.
Organic farming conserves the
agricultural biodiversity: In conventional agriculture practices the plants are sprayed with
synthetic fertilizers and pesticides which harm the plants in many ways. These
chemicals increase the yield for some time but have devastating effects on the
crops. Preys which are useful for the crops eat these chemicals and they die
and also the crop friendly microbes also die due to this. Previously there were
large number of varieties of potato but due to usage of harmful agriculture
practices we are left with very few varieties of potato available in the
market. But in organic farming, there is no use of such harmful chemicals
instead only natural manure and fertilizers are used which fosters the
biodiversity of this crops. Organic farming is the sustainable farming practice
which does not harm the environment.

3.
Organic farming yields the vegetables
and fruits which are natural and have better taste:  Vegetables and fruits grown by organic farming
are nutritious and tastier as compared to the same grown by conventional
farming. Organic farming yields the crops which do not affect the health of
humans and also supplies good amount of nutrients to the human body. Whereas
the crops grown with the help of chemicals in the fields are proving very dangerous
to the human health.

4.
Organic farming can be done with
minimum investment:
Organic farming requires less tools and techniques as compared to the
conventional farming. Organic farming required low amount of investment for
growing crops and also the products of organic farming are in very much demand
in the market which gives good amount of returns as compared to conventional
farming. Thus organic farming increases the income of the farmers.

5.
Organic farming combats with the
pollution: In a
study of Rodale Institute Farming Systems Trial which compares the conventional and organic farming it was found
that due to organic farming there was less emission of the carbon in the
environment as compared to conventional farming. Thus organic farming helps to
reduce the problem of global warming. Organic farming also discourages the
algal bloom which is formed due to release of chemicals in the conventional
farming. Algal bloom affects the marine life as well as takes up the nutrients
which are supplied to the crops. So we can solve the problem of algal bloom by
organic farming.
