Today is a world surrounded by sex, drugs and pressure! Abortion has been one of the most debatable subjects in United States and so many lives are being destroyed without the opportunity of choose. I believe that women have the right to decide what to do with their own bodies, but they do not have the right to choose someone’s lives. Teenage abortion has become a complicated issue in today’s time. In society today, teens are taught by the television and the media say that sex is not a bad thing. This problem is leading to many teenage pregnancies then lead to abortion.
When a lot of teenagers get pregnancies, first decision they will think is get an abortion. Many people think that abortion should be banned because abortion is murder of an unborn child. Although some people say that abortion is wrong, some people think that it’s a woman’s choice. Different people have different opinions, in my opinion, Teen abortion is wrong and it should be banned. There are many risks involved with teen abortion. Many deaths can occur because of teen abortion. According to my scientific research has successfully shown that abortion causes many mental side effects.
It leaves the woman with many strong feelings about their decisions. They feel sadness and guilty because they know a fetus represents an independent life. Most of the mother feels ashamed and embarrassed about her action. Even years after abortion, women will remember the abortion experience. When a woman has an abortion, she will always think about the baby she might have had. She will always remind her that she killed the baby. Because she has had an abortion, her conscience will remind her of what she had done; these thoughts will always be with her.
Also, teen abortion facts also report that the risk of breast cancer almost doubles if an abortion is performed on a first pregnancy. Many women in the entire world have abortions. Women believe there are many reasons to abort such as fear of having or raising a child, rape, or not having enough money. But whatever the situation, there is never an acceptable reason to get an abortion. Some important reasons why women should not abort have to do with human values, religious values, and values of conscience.
The first reason why women should not have an abortion is related to basic human values. Women need to think about their unborn babies who are not responsible for this situation. These unborn babies should have the privilege to live and grow into a normal person. Women need to be more humanitarian and less egoistic with these babies. On the other hand, the baby doesn’t know how or why he is here. It is not necessary to kill a life; there are many other solutions to resolve this problem short of abortion. The second reason why women should not abort has to do with religious values.
In almost all religions, a woman is not permitted to have an abortion. If they do, their religions will punish them. In some religions, for example, a woman cannot take communion after having an abortion, and before taking communion again, she must do many things as a form of penitence. In whatever religion, abortion is punished and for this reason, women should not abort. Finally, the third and most important reason why women should not abort is the related to her conscience. When a woman has an abortion, she will always think about the baby she might have had.
She will always think about the future that could have happened with her baby which will always remind her that she killed it. Because she has had an abortion, she will never have a good life, and her conscience will remind her of what she had done. Because a woman who has an abortion can’t forget about what she has done, these thoughts will always be with her, and the results can be calamitous. There are many reasons why women should not have an abortion. The truth is that women need to think about the consequences that can occur before having sexual relations.
I think that the effects of an abortion can be very sad for everyone involved, both for the woman who has the abortion and for the family who lives with her. Because of the risks involved, women should not choose abortion to terminate their pregnancy. This is a life changing event with significant physical and emotional consequences of which most women do not realize until after the procedure has been performed. First of all, there are many immediate complications, which can occur during the procedure, the most common being perforation of the uterus, cervical injury, infection, and retained tissue.
According to the American Journal of Obs/Gyn, since these injuries will usually go undiagnosed there is a 25% increased risk of problems with future pregnancies such as miscarriage, premature delivery, and rupture of the placenta to name a few. Secondly, the elevated risk of breast, cervical, and ovarian cancer. The Journal of National Cancer Institute reports that a woman’s risk of breast cancer increases by 30% after abortion, 90% if performed after 18 weeks of pregnancy and 150% if the woman is under age 18. Finally, and most importantly, is the emotional and psychological impact.
Many women after the abortion experience initial relief, the crisis is over and life returns to normal, however according to the Canadian Health and Canadian Medical Associations the crisis is not over, in fact it has just begun. Months even years later significant problems like clinical depression, drug and alcohol abuse, even suicide can occur due to the guilt, grief, and anger. I interview a friend of mine that once had an abortion and question her about many things. She told me that when she was only 17 years old when she had an abortion.
She told the reason why she had abortion because of she’s only 17 and it was because her mate was not ready and responsible for the consequence. She was very regret after she had the decision and not only as in emotional problem but as in her health problem too. She told me that her body loose around 5 pound within the month when she got her abortion. She told me that she had emotional depression issued after abortion and has to see a physiologist. It told her half a year to heal her emotional problem because she was very depress under the choice she made.
