Crimes slavery, persecution, murder, sexual violence, torture

Crimes against humanity are crimes people commit upon a large scale of individuals in which are viewed as inhumane.  The term humanity is the state or quality of being humane toward everybody around you.  Crimes against humanity is when individuals of a certain population or identifiable group are presented to being treated inhumanely at an immense rate.  These inhumane crimes include slavery, persecution, murder, sexual violence, torture and etc.  “Governmentsments around the world often deny that crimes against humanity have occurred on their territory, thus ignoring the suffering of their people” (TRIAL International, 2014). The term ‘Crimes against Humanity’ had first been introduced in the 1915 declaration by the Great Britain, France, and Russia government.  The three countries had condemned the turkish government for the alleged massacres of “Armenians”.  Although the term had been used in 1915, no one had been prosecuted or tried for crimes against humanity until after World War II in 1945.  1945 is also the first time crimes against humanity had appeared in a treaty, the 1945 Nuremberg Charter.  Article 6c of the Nuremberg charter states “namely, murder, extermination, enslavement, deportation, and other inhumane acts committed against any civilian population, before or during the war; or persecutions on political, racial or religious grounds in execution of or in connection with any crime within the jurisdiction of the Tribunal, whether or not in violation of the domestic law of the country where perpetrated” (Avalon 2006).  A primary example of a crimes against humanity is what took place during the holocaust, members of the jewish religion experienced genocide, torture, and etc.Adolf Hitler, a former dictator of Germany, and the number one cause of the holocaust. Hitler is very well known for the damage he produced, but also for his commanding attitude.  Hitler has the ability of an excellent speaker when it comes to a crowd.  “He’s really sort of a dull person, except when he appears before an audience, when somehow, a switch is turned on. He could milk an audience and shape it and get it to feel.” (Schullenes 2016)
